DETROIT -- Miguel Cabrera took one last walk to the plate, took one final position at first base, and then tipped his cap to the crowd as "Sweet Caroline" blared through the Comerica Park sound system.

The 40-year-old Cabrera, who played the final game of his 20-year major league career Saturday, soaked in the adoration of the Detroit Tigers faithful as he made his way off the field for the last time.
