Indiana Fever snap losing streak in high-scoring affair

Caitlin Clark stars as Fever edge Mystics 85-83

WASHINGTON - Caitlin Clark put on a show in front of one of the largest crowds in WNBA history Friday, making seven 3-pointers en route to a career-high 30 points to lead the Indiana Fever to an 85-83 win over the Washington Mystics.

It was a tale of two halves for the Fever, who trailed by 11 points at the break but caught fire in the third quarter, outscoring the Mystics 27-13 to take a one-point lead heading into the fourth.

The Fever held on in the fourth, thanks in large part to Clark's clutch free throw shooting down the stretch. She made 5 of 6 from the line in the final two minutes to help seal the victory.

Clark's performance was all the more impressive considering she was playing in just her fifth game since returning from a foot injury. The rookie guard is averaging 20.4 points per game this season, second among all WNBA players.

The win was the Fever's first in nine games and snapped a five-game losing streak to the Mystics. It also moved the Fever to 3-9 on the season, while the Mystics dropped to 0-10.
