Rangers Rally Past Blues In Shootout

New York improves to 2-4-1 over its last seven games

By Robert Sabo for NY Post

When Alexis Lafreniere jammed home a rebound to give the Rangers their first lead of the night at the 257 mark of the third period Saturday, it seemed as if the Blueshirts had finally seized control of the game. But this is the NHL, where momentum can shift on a dime. The Blues tied the game twice more, including once with just 2:08 remaining in regulation and again in overtime, before the Rangers finally prevailed in a shootout.

The Rangers, who improved to 12-10-5 with the win, have now won two of their last three games and are 2-4-1 over their last seven. The Blues, meanwhile, fell to 11-14-0 with the loss.

Igor Shesterkin made 35 saves for the Rangers, while Jordan Binnington made 30 saves for the Blues. The Rangers went 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Blues went 0-for-2.

The Rangers will be back in action on Monday when they host the Capitals. The Blues will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Wild.
